We are excited to announce our $5k neighborhood grant has been approved and funded by the City of Houston! This approval provides $5,000 in matching grant funds and we have wasted no time getting to work. We have already removed the previously struggling trees, and are currently working on the permit for an irrigation meter install, which we should get soon. Our hope is to finish project off with new trees planted sometime in February. Thank you to Council Member Abbie Kamin for supporting our application and providing the grant money, which comes directly from her District C discretionary service funds.
Capital Improvement Project 2024

Street Repairs and More Coming our Way!
It’s happening, and in a matter of months, not years!
I am excited to announce that, as per Harris Cty Pct 4 and Houston City Council Dist C reps at our latest SN-14 meeting, Lazybrook will be getting much needed infrastructure love here later this summer.
Per Public Works normal maintenance schedule we would have had to wait another 10yrs—but our elected officials have heard our concerns and are stepping up to get us some much overdue tax $$ re-invested in our area, with work to include sidewalks + repairs of existing sidewalks, street concrete panel repairs, asphalt overlays, and ADA sidewalk ramp installations.
Lazybrook is 1st up on the agenda with crews coming in July/August. See below for priority map—Lazybrook is Priority A1 and A2 based on condition/need .
As we learn more about timing/phasing of the projects (and final scope) we will keep folks informed. Big thanks to our partners in SN-14 for helping us forge this joint venture between Dist C and Pct 4 that will benefit all of Lazybrook/Timbergrove.
Lazybrook/Timbergrove Stormwater Drainage – Existing Conditions Results
At a public meeting on May 11th, The City Park Development Authority “TIRZ 12” hosted a presentation by Gauge Engineering, who have completed a preliminary stormwater drainage analysis for the greater area. This study is only phase 1 of a greater initiative to complete a capital improvement project in the area to address street flooding issues during “typical” 2 year heavy rain events.

Run the Grove 5K
We are excited to announce the return of the Timbergrove Manor “Run the Grove” 5K run on April 23, 2022! The 5K was last held in 2018 and brought Houston residents, runners, and businesses together in our community. Funds that are raised will be used to beautify our neighborhood including a donation for the maintenance of the Lorraine Cherry Nature Preserve (formerly known as W 11th Street Park). It will also provide an opportunity to bring our community together after the challenges of the last two years.
The date of the run has been secured with the City of Houston and the race course map is shown below.
However, we are still in the process of securing sponsors and are always in need of volunteers to assist with the event. Please contact Scott Douglas (scottdouglas86@gmail.com) if you have questions, would like to be a sponsor/know someone who would or are willing to help out in any way. Registration for this event will begin early next year on the TMNA website (www.tmnaonling.org) – note: the website is currently being modified and will be available in mid-January. We greatly appreciate your support in making the return of “Run the Grove” a success!
