Waste Disposal Facility Meeting

You are invited to an informational meeting and discussion about the proposed odor management technology at the Southwaste Disposal facility on Hurst Street.
- Sponsored by: State Rep. Sarah Davis, the Timbergrove Manor Civic Club, the SN14 Council
- When: Wednesday, May 21st, 6:00 pm
- Where: Kojak’s Café, 1912 W. 18th Street
- Who: Rep. Davis; representatives from Southwaste Disposal; homeowners, business owners, and other interested parties from the neighborhoods surrounding the Southwaste Disposal site.
- Why: Southwaste Disposal is a waste treatment facility that processes liquid restaurant waste as well as sewage from Porto-Cans used at Harris County toll booths. Southwaste has filed an application to expand their current operations by 40%. Because unpleasant odors from the existing facility have been a long-term issue with neighbors, Southwaste is proposing an odor abatement plan for the expanded business. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss that plan.
(Kojak’s is kindly offering us this space free of charge. Please consider purchasing a food or beverage item while you are there.)
Timbergrove Manor Civic Club meeting

First Lazybrook Easter Egg Hunt – April 13
The Moms of Lazybrook have organized our first Lazybrook Easter Egg Hunt and we would love to see and meet many of our neighbors of Lazybrook. It is this Sunday, April 13th at 2pm.
The principal at Sinclair said that the back gate near the ball field will be unlocked. That will most likely be the only entrance available and this is located on the back side of Sinclair off of Manville St (street parallel with Ella). The entire area is fenced off so the closest place to park to this entrance is the parking lot off of Manville St (near baseball field) and then along Manville Street when this parking lot gets full.
Egg hunt will start close to 2pm. If you would like to help hide eggs and/or if you have older kids that would like to help hide eggs, please come around 1:45pm.
If anyone has questions, please email Jayme Scott.
